Army Deploys Troops to Western, Eastern Borders
TEHRAN -- A senior Iranian Army commander said Friday the Islamic Republic has deployed several brigades of ground forces on the Western and Eastern borders of the country to maintain its security and preserve its territorial integrity.
Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari, deputy chief of the Iranian Army for Coordination, said, “Border control will prevent the entry of smuggled products, drugs and other materials into our country.”
“We must control our borders in order to maintain our social and internal security and prevent any unwanted incidents.”
